“It was taken in the western Xinjiang desert of China last Sept. 2014. I was with a group of photographers touring that region. We got up early to catch the daily routine of camel train on the way to work. The colourful sky at dawn was captivating.”

Gerry Kaiser  – “The image was photographed on Flowerpot Island National Park with a Canon 5d Mark 3 and an 8-15 mm fisheye lens at 15mm on a moonless night. Aperture was f4. The exposure took 2hours and 2 more hours in camera noise reduction for a total of 4 hours.”

Darren Miller – “This photo was shot in the basement of an abandoned public school.  It was late March and the school had flooded resulting in a four inch layer of ice in the whole basement.  My model (mother of three boys) had a hard time walking in those shoes and staying warm!  We shot a whole series in this building and they turned out delicious.  It was the most fun I have ever had in a classroom!”

Joyce Yeh – I was using Nikon D70, with a 35-105 Nikon lens, F5.6; 1/125 Sec; ISO400; 70mm focal length, This image was taken in the campus of University of Toronto. A pianist was practicing and he played so beautifully that attracted me to follow the stream of music to the room. Every time I see this picture, I can still hear beautiful piano music in my mind. This image was not photoshopped.”

Hank Pardoel – “It was taken in Puno, on Lake Titicaca, Peru at a local festival. The woman in my shot was in a small group of 4 women, each decked out in the colourful clothes of the area. She probably figured I was eager to take the shot but she turned out to be shy and evasive. I finally found her to be sitting amongst the other women and achieved the shot I was striving for.”

Rai Allen – This photo was done on May, 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and the model is 1st place Vietnam Next Top Model- Hoang Thuy. I had a chance to meet her in person and then we have decided to collaborate in a beauty project. This photo shoot was focused on poses, shape, line, emotion and depth. I used dramatic lighting to help feature the model’s cheek bone and shoulder. We built up the theme from simple to complex by adding more elements such as butterfly, flowers, dramatic make up.
